Equine Rescue

Animals rely on us to protect them and be their voice.

Liberty Acres Equine Rescue focuses on helping horses in need. Many have been neglected, abused or end up in kill pens.  Many have great homes, but due to  life changes, that their owners can no longer care for them. The horses here at Liberty Acres who are special needs horses, we provide a forever sanctuary home for, those that are adoptable we look for their special family. Each of our horses is adopted with a buyback contract to help prevent these horses from ending up in an unsavory situation. All of our horses leave vetted, with Coggins,  microchipped and teeth floated. We do have transporters, trainers and veterinarians that we can provide contact information for.

Two Times Won "Missy"

Missy is a sweet 20 year old Thoroughbred mare. She was a rescue we brought in Septemper 2021. She is back to health and feeling good! No lameness issues we are aware of. She is gentle, sweet and would make a great companion horse or riding though we have not ridden her yet. She's a doll! Loves attention and comes to meet you in the pasture. She has had teeth floated, vaccines, coggins and microchipped.

Bella
Adopted!

Bella is a beautiful paint mare approximately ten years old. She is current on coggins, vaccinations, microchipped and teeth floated. She does need an experienced rider and is not yet a childs horse. We are working through the fact that she does not like to pick up her back hooves and she is progressing nicely.

Lacy
Adopted!

Lacy, DOB May 5, 2019, is 3 year old TB cross now available for adoption. Her mare, Cherokee, was a tattooed Thoroughbred, her sire unknown but I expect QH. Lacy was born here on the farm after we pulled Cherokee pregnant out of a kill pen. When Lacy was 2 weeks old, Cherokee broke her leg and we had to put her down. Rather than bottle feed, Lacy had a nurse mare brought in from VA. Lacy has now started ground training and is doing great and is a real "in you pocket sweetheart"! has not been ridden yet so she is for an experienced person. She is about 14.2 hands large pony/small horse size. Lacy is current on coggins, vaccinations, microchipped and teeth floated.
